Maidstone Roller Dance Club wins four gold medals at Great Yarmouth British Championships

Members of the Maidstone Roller Dance Club have enjoyed great success at the UK Championships.

Their team of 10 skaters returned from Great Yarmouth with four gold, one silver and one bronze.

Oliver Martin won the senior men’s solo dance for the fourth consecutive year, adding his second gold with partner Dani Hayon in the senior pairs dance.

Club coach Ann Odhams took the Advanced Classical Solo Dance and Hayley Paterson completed the Gold Medal in the Intermediate Classical Solo Dance.

Zac Martin won silver in the men’s solo dance and Lucy Aves took bronze in the youth women’s solo dance.

International recognition followed, with Oliver Martin called up for the World Roller Games in Argentina, the European Championships in Andorra and the European Cup in Holland.

Brother Zac was selected for both European tournaments and Laura Donoghue, despite not making the top three, left for the European Cup.
