Six skaters from the Maidstone Roller Dance Club are called up to Britain to take part in events in Argentina, the Netherlands and France

Six members of the Maidstone Roller Dance Club have been selected to skate for Great Britain at three different events.

Five-time British champion Oliver Martin will compete at the World Roller Games in Argentina from October 24 to November 13 in the senior men’s solo dance event and the senior pairs dance event.

He was also scheduled to skate in the same events during the European Cup held in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands, with this event starting on Monday and ending on Saturday (yesterday).

Zachary Martin was scheduled to compete against his brother Oliver in the senior men’s solo event, with Laura Donoghue in the junior women’s solo dance event.

Elsewhere, Ella Donoghue, Laura’s older sister, Lucy Aves and Anna Slokenberga will also take part in the next artistic dance event, which will be held in Hettange-Grange in France, from next Thursday to next Saturday.

After all these international commitments, the other competitive members of the club are skating in the second round of the Roller Cup, held in Herne Bay on October 29th and 30th.
