NIZAMABAD: A video clip of Telangana University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ravinder Gupta dancing with students at the campus girls’ hostel has gone viral on social media, raising eyebrows in academia. The students had organized a procession of immersion in the idol of Ganesh and the VC also participated. During the procession, the girls started dancing, and the VC is seen dancing with them, in the music video.

During this time, some people alleged that the VC misbehaved with the students and even handed out money. However, nothing like this is visible in the music video which has gone viral. The university’s registrar, Dr Vidyavardhini, said some people were trying to damage the image of the university.

The VC made it clear that there was no truth to the allegations that he misbehaved with students and handed out money. “I took part in the procession at the request of the students. Some people try to tarnish the image of the institution with false accusations,” he said.
