Wantage School of Dance will represent the England team at the 2022 Dance World Cup
A DANCE school based in Oxfordshire is set to represent the England team at the 2022 Dance World Cup in Spain.
Wantage-based American Dance School have successfully qualified to represent Team England this summer in Spain at the Dance World Cup.
Eight dancers aged 11 to 18 will travel alongside director Jillian Clipsham to compete against 62 other countries.
Mr Clipsham said: “The competition is the most prestigious dance competition in the world, so to be able to represent the England team is something a small dance school in Wantage would never have believed. ”
Only the top four scouring dance routines per category and country can participate.

The Dance World Cup is held at a different venue every year and over 120,000 children from around the world between the ages of 4 and 25 try to qualify in their country for the final.
Mr Clipsham said: “We will be bringing a Hip Hop duo with Ava Tatum Hale called Barbie Girl and a contemporary band called Harriet, a dance based hero, Harriet Tubman with dancers, Jessica Surman, Erin McMillan, Gabe O’Dell , Holly Helm, Ava Tatum Hale, Alice Green, Alice Ley and Millie Brew.”
These dancers are part of the American Dance School’s elite competitive dance team, TEAM ADS. Dancers compete in regional and national competitions throughout the year and attend workshops and conventions.
The 2022 World Finals will take place in San Sebastian, Spain from June 24 to July 2, 2022.
